Walter the III’s family had a wonderful opportunity to go on a Mediterranean cruise this summer aboard the Emerald Princess for twelve wonderful days. At the following link you’ll see photos from Barcelona (where the cruise began), Marseilles, Livorno, Pisa, Rome, Naples, Capri, Sorrento, Pompeii, Mykonos, Istanbul, Kusadasi, and Athens finally ending in Venice. Can you find a picture of the Fenice Opera House? (The Fenice was aptly named after the mythical bird the phoenix, which is reborn from its own ashes – aptly named, as the Fenice was burned down by arsonists in 1996 and has been completely rebuilt – burned down for the third time in in just over 200 years.) I have not found a picture of the Fenice yet, but I keep looking!
